In June of 2012, Firefighter Chuck Jones was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. Chuck has been an active member of FDNY Ladder Company 165 for over 20 years. Prior to joining the FDNY, he served as a NYC Police Officer. Chuck has also been an active Volunteer Firefighter on Long Island for his entire life. Currently Chuck lives with his wife Leigh Anne and their 3 children in Sayville, where he is a very active member of the community. As a result of this illness, Chuck will require care and treatment for the rest of his life. He is currently at the beginning of a long battle, with a very uncertain future. One this that is certain, however, is that this disease will present Chuck and his family unforeseen economic hardships. The members of the Sleepless Knights are doing everything we can to help and support our brother in these difficult and trying times. On Saturday, October 13th, we will be conducting a fundraiser at Mulcahy's Pub in Wantagh from 3-7pm. We will be conducting raffles and a live auction to help raise funds for Chuck and his family.
