Good Morning America’s family that has been a mega hit with viewers is breaking up, RumorFix has confirmed.
Weatherman Sam Champion confirmed Monday that he’s leaving the morning program that he’s been on since 2006 on Wednesday.
Sam is joining the Weather Channel as host of a new morning show that premieres in 2014 and he will also become managing editor for the channel.

GMA has dominated the morning show race for a year and there are reports that the other anchors, Robin Roberts, Josh Elliot and Lara Spencer, are also in contract negotiations.
Meteorologist Ginger Zee will take over the weather duties on GMA.
