The Long Island Ducks will hold their annual “Anthem Idol” contest with contestants vying for six anthem openings!

If you want to sing the Anthem at the ballpark in 2013, this is your opportunity! 

It's happening Saturday, April 6th at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip. Registration begins at 9:00am. BLI’s Syke is on the judging panel this year!  

Performances will be held a capella with a one-minute and thirty second time limit. Instrumentalists and other unique performers are encouraged to participate as well. No tapes will be accepted.

Six performers will be selected as winners and given the opportunity to sing “The National Anthem” at a Ducks game this season! 

Following “Anthem Idol,” the Ducks will be hosting tryouts for on-field host and public address announcer positions (start time is approximately 12 noon). Anyone interested in trying out for on-field host or public address announcer positions should send an e-mail expressing their interest to jschiff@liducks.com.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark.

Opening Day is April 26.
