Hi, I'm Alina!  I was born in Romania (in the region known as Transylvania) then lived in California for a few years, but I've been on Long Island most of my life.  I fell in love with radio when I was about 9 or 10 and I never fell out! 

Around that age, I probably listened to the radio more than I watched TV and I even made my mom take me to events to meet  my favorite radio personalities.  

I decided to go to Hofstra University without realizing they had an amazing radio station, but like the saying goes: “Everything happens for a reason!” 

I joined WRHU Radio Hofstra University and did any and everything I could there: hosted the morning show, reported serious news, produced a Top 40 music show, and was on air as much as possible!  I even went on-air during the Spanish music show (good thing I paid attention in my high school Spanish classes!).  And the list goes on! 

I could not be happier to be working at BLI now!  Not only is it awesome to be working at a station I grew up listening to, but I work with extremely talented people.  And they are super nice and fun to be around!  And I love chatting with listeners!  If you hear me on, call me up to request a song, give a shout out or just to say hello!  

Birthday:  May 14 

Favorite Music:  Everything on BLI!  Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Drake, The Wanted, and I could go on and on.  I also love dance, house and freestyle music! 

Favorite TV Shows:  My TV is usually on E!, VH1, MTV or Bravo.   I love E! News, True Hollywood Story, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Real Housewives (of Orange County, Miami, New Jersey, NYC),  Mob Wives, Long Island Medium, The Wendy Williams Show.  I also like crime investigation shows (both real and fictional) and shows about ghosts and haunted places. 

Favorite LI Restaurants:  Kotobuki in Roslyn and Babylon, Nisen in Woodbury, Chi in Westbury, Sugar in Carle Place, Novita in Garden City, Four in Melville, Bracco’s in Freeport.

Favorite Places To Shop:  Century 21 Department Store, Roosevelt Field, The Galleria, Tanger, pretty much everywhere!  I love to shop! 

If I didn’t live on Long Island, I’d live:  In Queens, it’s close to LI and there’s tons to do! 

My Happy Place:  In the BLI studio or in the middle of a dance floor!  Music makes me happy! 

Obsessed With:  Chocolate, sushi, my phone and all my apps (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), Nutella. 

For Fun:  Working out, dinner or drinks and spending time with the amazing people in my life, going out to clubs or lounges, shopping, watching UFC fights, keeping up on celebrity gossip.  I hate to be bored, so I’m always looking for fun, new things to do! 

You May Be Surprised:  That I don’t have any tattoos.  Nothing against them, I just have a fear of committing to one!
