There's a new study out that analyzes how two-to-five-year-olds around the world are doing in 'tech' skills versus 'life' skills. And depending on your point of view, kids today are either prepared for a brave new world . . . or our priorities are WAY off.
--The technology company AVG polled 2,200 mothers who have Internet access and children aged two-to-five in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Here's what they found.
--19% of kids aged two-to-five know how to play with a smartphone application . . . but only 9% can tie their shoes.
--25% can open a web browser . . . but only 20% can swim.
--And more children aged two-to-three know how to play a 'basic' computer game than ride a bike . . . 44% versus 43%.
--Naturally, the CEO of AVG . . . a guy named J.R. Smith . . . had this to say. Quote, "Technology has changed what it means to be a parent raising children today.
--"As our research shows, parents need to start educating kids about navigating the online world safely at an earlier age than they might otherwise have thought."
