If you use Kotex Tampons, their manufacturer Kimberly-Clark is recalling about 1,400 cartons, claiming the plastic tubing could contain a bacteria capable of causing "dangerous infections."
Although the company hasn't received any reports of infection after using the tampons in question, tests have detected the bacterium Enterobacter sakazakii. The bacteria has the potential to cause health problems ranging from vaginal infections to pelvic inflammatory disease, and even other "potentially life-threatening infections."
A listing of stores impacted and the latest information can also be found on the Kimberly-Clark website at http://www.kimberly-clark.com/ and the Kotex brand website at http://www.kotex.com
