Remembering September 11th

Remembering September 11th
Remembering September 11th

By Astra

It’s been 11 years, yet we all can still remember the day the twin towers fell - like it was yesterday.

You remember where you were, what you were doing, who you were with, and you will never forget those vivid images of when the planes struck the towers and one by one how the towers fell.

As a Long Islander, I know that this is a day that I will never forget.  I knew 3 people that passed away in that tragic event and my thoughts and prayers go out to their families. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about what happened.

The victims of the attacks will be remembered across the world. Remember – We Will Never Forget!

For live coverage of the commemoration ceremony, or to make a donation directly to the September 11th Memorial and Museum, click here.

Firefighters and injured veterans from the New York metropolitan area, including Long Island, will make a 150-mile bicycle trip to honor the 343 city firefighters who perished in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. They will cycle from the One World Trade Center in lower Manhattan on Sept. 16. The trip will end in Montauk on Sept. 17.
