Syke
If you’ve ever been stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on Long Island between 6A-10A and wondered, “Who is this man, and why does he have the energy of a golden retriever who just discovered espresso?”—congratulations, you’ve found Syke. As one half of The Syke Morning Show with Ally Ali on 106.1 BLI, Syke has spent years proving that you don’t need a normal sleep schedule to be a functional member of society. He’s the guy who keeps Long Island moving, laughing, and occasionally questioning his life choices before the sun is even fully up. Syke isn't just "on" the radio; he is Long Island. Born and raised in Baldwin and now holding it down in Babylon, he’s a local through and through. He joined the BLI family back in 2009, locked in his full-time spot by 2010, and has been steering the morning show ship since 2018. The Ultimate Sports "Homer" If there’s a New York team that’s capable of causing emotional distress, Syke is a fan of them. He lives and breathes the Mets, Islanders, Knicks, and Jets. But he doesn’t just watch from the couch: • UBS Arena: Since 2021, he’s been the official in-game host for the New York Islanders. If you hear a voice getting the crowd hyped during a power play, that’s him. • Citi Field: Catch him occasionally hosting on the big screen for the Mets, proving he can transition from the ice to the diamond without missing a beat. Off-Air & Unfiltered When he’s not dodging flying pucks or debating the latest pop hit, Syke is a dedicated family man. He’s a proud husband to Kim and a girl-dad to Autumn. While his morning job requires him to be a pop music encyclopedia, his "real life" consists of: • The Kitchen: Whipping up meals (and hopefully not burning the house down). • The Bar: Mixing the perfect craft cocktail (research is important, okay?). • The Gym: Working out to balance out those craft cocktails. "Syke is the only person who can transition from a serious Islanders update to a deep-dive on the new Dua Lipa single without breaking a sweat." - Nobody ever said that, but it looks good in quotes, doesn't it?
