The Arbor Day Foundation honors Smithtown as “Tree City USA”

How Smithtown got the official title

According to LongIsland.com, Smithtown holds the distinction of “Tree City USA”. the title is based on a superior environmental stewardship and dedication to maintaining a thriving urban forestry program.

For Arbor Day, April 26th, There’ll be a ceremonial tree planting at the Senior Citizens Center to keep the tradition going! In addition, there’s a plan to plant 500 trees throughout Smithtown before year’s end.
