This week’s BLI Healthcare Hero is EMT worker John Phillips from King’s Park. He was nominated by his neighbor, Patrick O’Donnell following a heroic act from John.

“Last night my 2 year old son had a seizure with a 104 fever and started gasping for air. John rushed over with his EMT kit and went to work on my son. He kept him alert and most importantly alive all the way to the emergency room.  Without John I don’t know what would have happened to my son. I am so grateful to have him and he was so brave and calm the whole time. In my family’s eyes he is a hero.”

John is an EMT in New York City, as well as volunteering when he goes to school upstate. We commend John and thank him for his incredibly heroic act! As a token of gratitude, BLI wants to say thank you with $100 gift card to Moe’s Southwest Grill. Thank you John for keeping Long Island and Kings Park safe!
