BLI’s Healthcare Heroes: Kevin Lawless from Centereach

This week’s BLI Healthcare Hero is Kevin Lawless from Centereach! Kevin works at Maryhaven caring for residents, as he has greatly throughout the pandemic. He was nominated by his sister Diana.

Diana said, “Kevin has been working with the Mentally Challenged [at] Maryhaven for a couple [of] years.  He not only has patience for his clients but compassion and always gives them an opportunity and choice to learn as best to their ability. I love to see the difference he has [and] continues to make. He has built a Special Rapport with everyone at Maryhaven. The pandemic/quarantine was a huge challenge for clients and of course staff.  They all managed to keep clients safe, occupied and worked with families via phone for those who have. Kevin then contracted COVID-19 he was blessed to have a mild case [and] as soon as medically cleared he was right back at it working through quarantine within their own facility. He [is] patient, compassionate, funny, and should be honored regardless of any special circumstances. Thank you Kevin for what you do for those who cannot do for themselves!!!”
