She’ll never be me

Oops!… She did it again! Britney Spears is giving fans a major dose of nostalgia with the official release of a song that’s been sitting in the vault for 25 years!

On Friday, October 9, the Princess of Pop released “She’ll Never Be Me,” a track originally recorded in 2001 for her third studio album, Britney, but ultimately left off the final tracklist.

And here’s a little twist! The song was actually co-written by Britney and her then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, alongside producers Alex Greggs and Bradley Daymond.

The track is all about confidence, heartbreak, and reminding an ex that nobody will ever quite replace her. Classic Britney!

The release is part of a much bigger celebration marking the 25th anniversary of her iconic Britney album, which gave us unforgettable hits like “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Overprotected,” and “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.”

The upcoming Britney (25th Anniversary Edition) arrives November 6 and features 23 tracks, including remixes, bonus material, and previously unreleased recordings.

Among the additional songs are “Am I a Sinner,” “When I Say So,” “My Big Secret,” and “Right Now (Taste the Victory),” originally featured in Britney’s 2002 Pepsi campaign.

While longtime fans may recognize some of these tracks from recordings that circulated online over the years, this marks their long-awaited official release.

It’s also Britney’s first release of previously unheard original material since her 2023 collaboration with will.i.am, “Mind Your Business.”

The early 2000s nostalgia is REAL! And with more music from the vault on the way, Britney fans have plenty to celebrate.

“She’ll Never Be Me” is available to stream now, with the full anniversary album arriving November 6!
