Comsewogue School District comes together to support 8-year-old student with Leukemia

The school district hosted their annual St. Baldrick’s event raising over $10,000 dollars to help Tenzin in his battle.

It’s been a special week at JFK Middle School and all throughout the Comsewogue School District. They came together to rally for one 8-year-old student named Tenzin Tanaka.

Tanaka is diagnosed with T-ALL Leukemia. According to The Patch, the middle school and school district hosted their annual St. Baldrick’s event raising over $10,000 dollars to help Tenzin in his battle. His mother Colleen is a single mom who had to leave her job to care for Tenzin while undergoing care. Additionally, they partnered with Stony Brook University to host a blood drive also to benefit him!

Kudos to the Comsewogue community showing so much love for their fellow classmate and student!
