Knicks in 5(K)!
Long Island is NOT missing out on all the fun! As the New York Knicks continue their unforgettable championship run, one Long Island superfan is making sure the entire neighborhood feels the excitement.
Deer Park resident James Hentschel has transformed his home into a glowing tribute to the Knicks, covering it with an estimated 10,000 LED lights in the team’s signature blue and orange colors. The eye-catching display reportedly cost around $5,000 and took roughly 40 hours to install.

Hentschel, a longtime Knicks fan and contractor known locally for his elaborate holiday light displays, unveiled the setup at the start of the NBA Finals. The lights are controlled through an app, allowing him to create custom animations and themed displays throughout the year.
The display has quickly become a local attraction, with drivers slowing down to snap photos and videos as they pass by. According to Hentschel, fans have been stopping by throughout the playoffs to celebrate the Knicks’ historic run.
The over-the-top display is just another example of the excitement surrounding the Knicks’ championship season, with fans across New York showing their support in creative ways. But it’s safe to say few have taken their fandom quite as far as this Deer Park resident.
