If you want to eat ice cream for breakfast and not feel guilty about it, Häagen-Dazs has some great news for you! They’re selling a new type of yogurt they claim is, quote, “REMINISCENT of ice cream.” It’s called “cultured crème.”
It takes five times longer to make than traditional yogurt. That apparently makes it thicker and creamier, so it’s ALMOST like eating ice cream for breakfast. They also say it doesn’t have the sour tang that yogurt does.
They’ve been rolling it out to grocery stores nationwide this month. They’re doing six flavors to start: Vanilla, strawberry, lemon, blueberry, black cherry, and one that’s coffee-flavored. (Here’s a photo.)
Sadly, it’s got more calories than regular yogurt. A four-ounce vanilla packs 190, or about twice as many calories per ounce as other yogurts.
That’s also just 60 calories less than a scoop of ACTUAL Häagen-Dazs. So if you want to have ice cream for breakfast . . . YOLO . . . maybe just go for it.
