Okay, this one has my attention.
Jay-Z is taking over Stade de France in Paris tonight for JAŸ-Z 30, a special concert celebrating his legacy, career and biggest hits. The show comes during the 30th anniversary year of his debut album Reasonable Doubt, which was released in 1996, and it’s being billed as much more than just a regular tour stop.
And now fans are connecting some very interesting dots involving Justin Timberlake.
JT has reportedly been spotted in Paris ahead of tonight’s show. That alone might not mean much, except Jay-Z and Justin have a LOT of history together. They teamed up on “Suit & Tie” and “Holy Grail,” then hit stadiums together for their massive Legends of the Summer tour in 2013.
There’s also the timing.
Justin revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease and has been taking time away from performing. So if he were to suddenly walk onstage with Jay-Z tonight, it would mark a pretty major return to the stage.
Then there’s the format of tonight’s concert. Jay-Z and Roc Nation are calling these shows a celebration of culture, heritage and greatest hits, which leaves plenty of room for songs and collaborators from throughout his career. The official schedule has Jay-Z taking the stage around 9 PM in Paris, with the show expected to run until approximately 11 PM.
So, do we have confirmation that Justin Timberlake is performing?
No. Not yet.
JT has not been officially announced as a guest, and being in Paris certainly doesn’t guarantee he’ll show up. But Justin being spotted in the same city, on the same night as a special career-spanning Jay-Z concert, with their history together?
Yeah… I’m watching this one. 👀
