JT FANS....buckle up! Fans are buzzing about Justin’s performance in Miami with Don Toliver, and clues about a possible return and new music is certainly adding up.
Justin Timberlake has been popping up in some VERY interesting places lately, and now fans are asking the obvious question: Is JT quietly working on new music?
Nothing has been announced or confirmed, but a string of appearances over the past week has fans putting their detective hats on.
It started at Walt Disney World.
Timberlake was spotted at EPCOT last weekend, where fan videos showed him spending time at the park. But he wasn’t the only major name there. Pharrell Williams was also at Disney World, along with Quavo, leading to immediate speculation about whether there could be more to the timing than a Florida vacation.
Of course, seeing Justin and Pharrell in the same orbit gets music fans talking for a reason.
The two have more than two decades of history together. Pharrell and Chad Hugo’s The Neptunes helped create some of the defining records of Timberlake’s solo career, including “Rock Your Body.” Their relationship is still clearly strong, too. Earlier this year, Timberlake made a surprise appearance honoring Pharrell when he received the Dr. Dre Impact Award during Grammy Week.
And then came Miami.
Just days after the Disney sightings, Timberlake unexpectedly appeared onstage Saturday night, August 22, during Don Toliver’s concert at Miami’s Kaseya Center.
JT joined Don for “Rock Your Body” before the two transitioned into Toliver’s “Body.”
That song choice makes the whole thing even more interesting!
Don Toliver’s “Body” samples Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body,” meaning Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo are all credited as writers on the track.
Sooooo... let’s connect the dots.
Justin Timberlake is spotted around Disney World at the same time as longtime collaborator Pharrell Williams. Days later, he’s suddenly in Miami making a surprise appearance with one of today’s biggest artists, performing a song built around a record he originally created with Pharrell.
Coincidence? Absolutely possible.
The beginning of something musically? Also absolutely possible.
There is currently no confirmation that Timberlake is recording a new album. His official site also hasn’t announced a new project beyond Everything I Thought It Was.
But after a relatively quiet stretch, JT suddenly being seen alongside Pharrell and then returning to the stage with Don Toliver within days of each other is enough to get the rumor mill moving.
And considering Pharrell helped create some of the biggest songs of Justin Timberlake’s career, a reunion in the studio would certainly get our attention.
For now, we’re filing this one under: not confirmed, but we’re watching. 👀
