50 years of Islanders hockey & this season, the team gets to pay tribute to one of the most controversial logos in team history - THE FISHERMAN!

That’s right, he’s back! The NHL revealed their Reverse Retro jerseys for the 2022-23 season this week & the Islanders jersey is pretty slick!

The jersey is a navy blue with orange piping around the sleeves and around the bottom of the jersey. The star of the show is the fisherman logo, the logo the Islanders tried out for a few years in the 90′s. That logo & jersey (which had a lot of teal) didn’t go over well with fans, so the team quickly went back to their iconic Isles logo. However, the fisherman grew on fans over the years & it’s back this year....but only for a few games this season.
