New York Knicks fans may want to thank Justin Bieber for a little extra playoff magic.
As the Knicks continue their incredible postseason run, team captain and superstar point guard Jalen Brunson has revealed a surprising pregame ritual that dates all the way back to his college days.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brunson shared that he listens to Justin Bieber before every single game. Not sometimes. Not occasionally. Every game.
The tradition started when Brunson was playing at Villanova after his sister introduced him to Bieber’s hit album Purpose. Before an NCAA Tournament game, he put the album on and his team won. Then they won again. And again. Brunson admitted he started thinking the music might actually be bringing him good luck.
Considering Brunson helped lead Villanova to two national championships and is now leading the Knicks on one of the most exciting playoff runs in franchise history, it’s hard to argue with the results.
The Knicks star has previously shared that listening to at least one Justin Bieber song before taking the court is a must-have part of his game day routine.
So while fans may think Brunson is getting locked in with hip hop or heavy workout music before tipoff, it turns out Bieber is the soundtrack behind one of basketball’s biggest stars.
Hey, if it’s working, don’t change it
