Fresh off helping lead the New York Knicks to their first NBA Championship since 1973, Jalen Brunson is adding another title to his résumé: children’s book author.
The Knicks captain and three-time NBA All-Star has announced his debut picture book, Jalen Plays It All, an inspiring story about perseverance, hard work, and discovering your strengths through trying new things.
Illustrated by Neely Daggett, the book follows a young Brunson as he explores a variety of sports—including swimming, football, baseball, and tennis—before ultimately finding his passion for basketball. Along the way, he learns valuable lessons about discipline, confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
“Basketball was always at the center of my journey, but every sport I played helped build the habits, character and work ethic that made me who I am,” Brunson shared when announcing the project.
The book is geared toward children ages 4-8 and is being published by Feiwel & Friends. According to the publisher, Jalen Plays It All is scheduled for release on August 3, 2027, and is available for preorder now.
