NYC is getting ready for one of the biggest celebrations the city has seen in decades, with 34,000 fans expected to be in attendance.
After ending a 53 year championship drought and defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games to capture the 2026 NBA Finals, the New York Knicks will be honored with a championship ticker tape parade in Manhattan on Thursday, June 18!!!
Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed the parade shortly after the Knicks clinched the title Saturday night, announcing that New York City would celebrate the franchise’s first championship since 1973. The NY Knicks are also set to receive the keys to the city on Thursday.

WHEN: Thursday, June 18th

WHERE: Battery Park
WHERE WILL IT END: Parade will conclude at Broadway and Chambers Street next to City Hall
ROUTE: Will travel through the legendary Canyon of Heroes in Lower Manhattan. The route will begin near Battery Park and head north along Broadway before ending at City Hall, where the team will be honored in an official ceremony and receive Keys to the City.
WHO: Knicks players including, Jalen Brunson, OG, Karl-Anthony Towns, James Dolan (0wner of the Knicks and the head of MSG).
The Canyon of Heroes has hosted some of New York’s most iconic celebrations, including championship parades for the Yankees, Giants, and New York Liberty. Remarkably, this will be the first ticker tape parade ever held for the Knicks despite the franchise’s previous championships in 1970 and 1973.
Fans are expected to pack Manhattan in massive numbers as they celebrate a team led by Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, who delivered a legendary performance in the championship clinching win. Officials have already hinted this could become one of the largest championship parades in New York City history.
The celebration won’t stop with the parade. City Hall and several municipal buildings throughout New York City will be illuminated in Knicks blue and orange to mark the historic occasion.
