The MTA is warning of possible strike and service shutdown to the LIRR this Saturday.
What do you need to know? Basically this is happening as several LIRR union workers are fighting with the MTA over contract negotiations and mainly pay raises.
If no deal is reached, legally a strike could happen on May 16th. This would be the first strike for the LIRR in more than 30 years.
