Long Island’s own Ralph Macchio is heading back home and giving fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic movies of all time at the Huntington Cinema Arts Centre.
The “Karate Kid” star is set to appear at the Cinema Arts Centre for a special event where he’ll share stories from the making of the legendary film and reflect on his decades-long career.
Macchio, who grew up on Long Island, became a household name after starring as Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid, the 1984 hit that followed a bullied teen learning martial arts from mentor Mr. Miyagi. The film went on to become a massive cultural phenomenon, spawning sequels, a reboot, and even the hit series Cobra Kai.
Now, more than 40 years later, the franchise is still going strong. Macchio recently returned to the role in Karate Kid: Legends, continuing the story for a new generation while honoring the legacy that started it all.
At this upcoming Huntington event, fans can expect personal stories, career reflections, and a deeper look into how The Karate Kid became one of the most beloved films in pop culture history.
For Long Island fans, it’s a full-circle moment — a hometown hero celebrating a role that helped define generations.
