In 2016, MARIAH CAREY was briefly engaged to a billionaire named JAMES PACKER. But he doesn’t make it into her new memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”. And now Mariah is explaining why.
She says, quote, “If it was a relationship that mattered, it’s in the book. If not, it didn’t occur. [James and I] didn’t have a physical relationship, to be honest with you.”
It was actually Packer who called off the engagement in October of 2016. Mariah sold her 35-carat diamond for $2.1 million, then started dating her backup dancer Bryan Tanaka. They’ve been together ever since.
