“American Ninja Warrior” could be headed to the Olympics.  I know how that sounds, but it’s actually TRUE.

The Japanese company that invented the “Ninja Warrior” franchise announced yesterday that the obstacle course could become a part of the Modern Pentathlon at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.

The Pentathlon is made up of five events.  Currently, those events are the very complimentary and not at all random disciplines of fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, laser pistol shooting, and running.  (???)

But after the 2024 games in Paris, they’re going to start testing a “Ninja Warrior” course as a possible replacement for the equestrian portion.

(Why stop there?  What other events could we add to the Olympics?  How about “Wipeout”?  “RuPaul’s Drag Race”?  “Lego Masters” could be fun.  Can you think of any others?)
