Churches Now Offering Drive Thru Ashes For Ash Wednesday

We all can agree that we live in a fast-paced world. We like our Door Dash, Uber cars, and our 2-day delivery. It’s Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of Lent. What do you do if you don’t have enough time to attend a service to get your ashes? What if there was a service where you could just get your “Ash in a dash?”

Well, there is!

A New trend that is starting to get popular from Detroit to New Jersey. It’s called “Ashes to Go” You can now get your ashes at libraries, coffee shops, train stations, or just drive past the church. There is a church in St. Louis that has been doing this for over a decade but it is just now getting popular because we’re all so busy nowadays. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent, a roughly 40-day period of penitence that concludes with the celebration of Easter.
