Grab your Eggo’s and get ready to live like you’re in the 1980s! Iconic Coney Island is getting transformed into an 80s carnival!
The change is expected to happen next weekend (July 5-7, 2019.) The change is inspired by “Stranger Things” set to release on the 4th of July!
According to Timeout, Coney Island will feature rides inspired by the show and themed prizes! The iconic Deno's Wonder Wheel is evolving to resemble 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana! There will also be bumper cars and "Scoops Ahoy" ice cream shop, employed by character Steve Harrington. The festivities will also have fireworks to celebrate the occasion!
The theme does not stop in Coney Island! Santa Monica Pier in California will be transformed this weekend as well with an 80s cover band, Hawkins Bike Shop, and more Hawkins inspired elements!
Luckily no costumes are required to celebrate the release at either location, but it would be pretty cool to have people dressed up as Eleven with her iconic pink collared dress and bloody nose! Stranger Things fans- get ready to live like you’re in the Upside Down!
