I’m a LITTLE sad this week because Rent Live has come and go, and it happened all so quickly. The obvious star of the show that night was Vanessa Hudgens. This wasn’t a surprise at ALL, Vanessa has been our day one girl since I could remember. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to see all the times Vanessa has killed the game.
1. Love at first sight
Remember that shy new girl Gabriella? Oh, how she’s grown since then.
2. The comeback
We got a nice hair cut from Vanessa, Gabriella developed insane life saving skills, AND stood up for herself when Troy wasn’t treating her right?! You GO, girl!
3. When we thought it was goodbye
Our girl got into a pre-college program, showed off her dance moves at prom, and made us cry as she took her final bow at graduation. We were left feeling empty and wondering when was the next time Vanessa was going to teach us some life lessons.
4. Rocker Vanessa
Vanessa’s return to the big screen was with this pretty lowkey movie Bandslam. But we saw a cool side of Vanessa, who plays guitar player Sa5m (the 5 is silent).
5. Bad girl Vanessa
What. A. Range. Vanessa. Has. Here we see a TOTAL different side of her in the movie Spring Breakers. Still as amazing as shy, sweet Gabriella though.
6. Grease-y Vanessa
Vanessa brought us back to her musical roots by playing Betty Rizzo. It was AMAZING!!!
7. Final form... RENT Vanessa!!!
It is nearly impossible to live up to Idina Menzel... but of course our girl KILLED it as Maureen in Rent Live! From her amazing moo’s to her all leather cat suit, Vanessa was a total ten out of ten during the live show. We love a long time loyal queen!
