Did someone call Mythbsuters? We’re here to break down some summer myths, and separate summer facts from summer fiction.
“You can catch a cold from your air conditioning”. Well, I mean, you can get COLD from your air conditioning, but there is no evidence that your A.C. can directly make you sick.
“Any drink will rehydrate you on a hot day.” No. Just no. Steer away from the sugary drinks this summer, and stick with the water instead!
“You can’t get a sunburn on a cloudy day.” Clouds don’t block out UV rays, so you can feel the burn even when you can’t see it.
“Eating garlic will keep mosquitoes away.” Garlic, ultrasonic devices, and apps are all gimmicks. Stick with bug spray containing DEET if you want to keep the pests at bay.
“A dip in the pool can double as a shower”. Once again. NO. Pools are a place to sunbath, not actually bath. Try a shower, I hear they’re lovely!
