New Yorkers enjoy early Thanksgiving dinner on subway car

Can I get uuuuhhh... Turkey and some mashed potatoes?

MTA Subway NEW YORK - OCTOBER 26: People enter a subway car at Times Square October 26, 2004 in New York City. The New York City subway system opened 100 years ago on October 27 when the IRT line went from City Hall to upper Manhattan. In 1904, 150,000 people paid 5 cents each to ride New York's first subway and today 4.5 million riders a day utilize the city's 842 miles of subway lines. Sunday night was eventful and overall WHOLESOME evening on the L train in NYC. Some very festive New Yorkers came together to celebrate an early Thanksgiving on the Subway with all the fixins’.

As you can see, the entire Subway car was decked out - with a table and spread right down the middle! It seems this was a very well planned out event, where some brought food from their homes to help busy commuters get into the Holiday spirit, in what was probably the most New York way ever.

Ah, New York. There’s nothing else like it. I may have to start taking the subway more often now.
