The newest addition to the cast of Bravo’s hit reality show, ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’, Jennifer Fessler; who has quickly become a fan favorite for her down-to-earth demeanor and ability to bring comic relief to highly dramatic scenes, joined the ‘Tangorra Takeover with Nick Tangorra’ to chat all things season 13!
Jennifer admits having the cameras around in the beginning was a bit nerve-wracking. “At first it was really daunting. This is an adventure for me so it was just overwhelming and also like really exciting and really fun.” Jennifer added that pretty quickly, she got so engulfed into the drama she forgot the cameras were even there. “It’s interesting because as it progressed, like everybody says, you do sort’ve forget the cameras are there because you’re so involved in what’s happening…. And there’s always so much happening so you don’t even have time to think about the cameras. Your head is spinning with drama and for me, getting to know people…. It was sort’ve natural after a while.”
Prior to joining the hit show, Jennifer was already very friendly with cast-mates Margaret Josephs and Dolores Catania off camera. However, it was Margaret who referred Jennifer to a casting director for the show that eventually got her on season 13. “I was a fan! I’ve been a viewer for years, but Margaret was the one who recommended me to a casting director unbeknownst to me”, Jenn said. “I didn’t ask her to. I wasn’t planning on becoming a part of the show, but Margaret interestingly enough didn’t give me a lot of pointers because I think she just wanted me to be myself. She didn’t try to influence me. She wasn’t like ‘come on and be my soldier’ or ‘I’m bringing you on so you have my back’…. There was none of that! Her advice always was really just ‘do you’ and ‘be what your personality is and be authentic’. I didn’t get any whisperings or sort’ve sly advice from her.. it was just ‘do you’.”
During the interview, Jennifer also opened up about her life outside of the show, including her brand, ‘F Major’ which she is the Co-Founder and CEO. She explained that her goal with the brand is to create high-quality, comfortable heels that women can wear all day without sacrificing style. With a tag line of “3 inches never felt so good”, Jennifer’s black heel stems from a conversation she had with an employee at a department store. “Growing up, I was obsessed with high heels. I found that as I got older, I just couldn’t wear them anymore. So I made this decision that I was going to find one pair of black heels that I could wear with everything that were luxury, designer and that I could actually walk in. I went to the department store and I asked the sales lady, ‘can you please just show me a pair of 3 inch black pumps that are gorgeous, but also comfortable’ because I’d had seen a lot of comfort pumps that I wouldn’t be caught dead in. She said ‘listen honey, these designers… they don’t make shoes for people with wide feet so you’re just gonna have to just size up’.”
In the interview, Jennifer explained that even after sizing up, she found the shoes to be uncomfortable and extremely difficult to walk in. That’s when the ‘light bulb’ went off for Jennifer. “I work with this incredible manufacturer in Spain. I know what I like. I don’t have to have heels anymore with red bottoms and rhinestones, but I really want to feel sexy and be able to wear high heels and so we have this patent pending technology in them that makes them comfortable and fabulous… and they’re also not just for fifty-four year old women.”
Viewers can’t help but be impressed by Jennifer’s confidence and business savvy, as many have taken to social media to voice their desire to see Jenn as a full time housewife on the show. Will we see it? Stay tuned…
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Real Housewives interview without a little drama, and Jennifer also teased some upcoming conflicts on the show, hinting at tensions with some of her cast-mates. Social media has been talking for months about an alleged ‘brawl’ that took place at the season finale party. “As bad as you think it’s going to be, it’s worse”, Jennifer suggested.
Despite the drama, it’s clear that Jennifer is quickly becoming a fan favorite and a valuable addition to ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ franchise.
So, what’s next for Jennifer Fessler? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: fans can’t wait to see more of her on TV and to see what other surprises or hilarious reactions she has in store for us.
