Swimming “off-limits”: Shark Sightings reported across LI

Swimming remains off-limits for the time being. The decision will be reevaluated on Thursday.

According to The Patch, multiple shark sightings have been reported at Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Park. Swimmers are being instructed to use caution. The sharks were spotted in the early morning before lifeguards were on duty. The LI regional director for the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, George Gorman said to The Patch that swimming remains off-limits for the time being. The decision will be reevaluated on Thursday.
