Sabrina Carpenter gave us a taste of what we could see from her during her second leg of the ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour in her debut at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, on Tuesday night. She added some country flair to her staples from ‘Short n’ Sweet’ and her newest from ‘Man’s Best Friend.’
Her intro speech to the show was very authentically Sabrina, joking about how she isn’t “country,” but is grateful for the opportunity to perform at the iconic venue, especially with her newest album being made from ”a pedal steel, a banjo and a dream."
She opened the show with “Please Please Please,” then performed “Go Go Juice” for the first time live and played a little instrument too!
She also sang “Slim Pickins,” arguably her most country sounding song, and closed the show with “Manchild” with the entire crowd chanting her lyrics back to her.
She took to Instagram to reflect on her debut, and thanked Sheryl Crow for introducing her set.
We all know Sabrina is known for not necessarily being “family friendly” with her cheeky references, play on words, and her overall aesthetic. However, she kept most of this performance PG and sang all the clean versions of her songs to keep her performance “wholesome” to match Nashville’s vibe.
Congrats to Sabrina on her debut, maybe we’ll see more artists like Sabrina perform at the Opry next!
