The Weeknd took off teh face bandages & unveiled his new look recently in his video for “Save Your Tears” & OMG.. I was horrified. His fans have been trying to figure out some potential references for his “new look” which is clearly a play on heavy plastic surgery. Now, his listeners think the 30-year-old singer might have slightly shaded ex Bella Hadid with his unrecognizable look.
“Is The Weeknd trying to look like Bella Hadid bc I can see it,” one fan wrote on Twitter, adding side-by-side images of The Weeknd’s jarring look for the music video and a selfie of the 24-year-old model to their tweet. Another person chimed in to say, “The Weeknd is definitely bashing Bella Hadid with the whole plastic surgery themes.” Another person simply asked, “Did Bella Hadid get anything for referring The Weeknd to her plastic surgeon?”
Other fans, however, weren’t as convinced. “No. His face was battered so he fixed it with many plastic surgery. He is saying he is healing,” one fan shared of their interpretation of the symbolism in the music video. In terms of the plastic surgery dig at Bella, the model has denied that she’s had cosmetic enhancements. “People think I got all this surgery or did this or that. And you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling. I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn’t want to mess up my face,” Bella said in May 2018.
