Why You Shouldn’t Drop Mail In Blue Mailboxes

Are you one of (we’re assuming one of) the very few people still sending actual snail mail? Welp! Stop sending via the blue mailboxes!

The US Postal Service is warning customers to avoid using those mail box drop off sites on very specific days due to mail theft. The days? Sundays & holidays.

It raises the question of why USPS bothers to keep these boxes, which must be expensive to service at all.

Maybe just play it safe & stop using them altogether! I’ve always wondered how long that mail sits in that box. I know there are specific times the mail is supposed to be picked up, but are we really sure the post office keeps up with that schedule? Probably just easier to walk up to the post office (get those steps in) and drop off inside!
