Four Bands Unite for November 15 Benefit Concert in Farmingdale to Help Drew “Junior” Davis Obtain Essential Home Health Care
FARMINGDALE, NY — For years, Drew “Junior” Davis has shared his love of music with friends, family, and fellow musicians across Long Island. Now, as he faces the devastating effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the local music community is coming together to give something back to a man who has given so much of himself to others.
On Sunday, November 15, 2026, four bands will take the stage at The Coop in Farmingdale, New York, for a special benefit concert to raise funds for Davis, a beloved musician, father, grandfather, partner, and friend whose life has been dramatically altered by this relentless neurological disease.
Diagnosed with ALS within the past year, Davis has experienced a rapid and devastating decline in his physical abilities. ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive and ultimately fatal neurological condition that destroys the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement.
In just a matter of months, Davis has lost the ability to enjoy many of the activities that once defined his life, including playing guitar and harmonica, traveling to visit loved ones, and even eating independently. As the disease progresses, basic daily activities such as speaking, personal hygiene, eating, and mobility have become increasingly difficult or impossible without assistance.
Davis now urgently requires professional in-home care to maintain his safety, comfort, and dignity. Unfortunately, the home health aide services he needs are not covered by his insurance, leaving his family facing an estimated $76,000 in annual caregiving expenses.
Rather than stand by helplessly, Drew’s friends and fellow musicians are turning to something that has always brought them together: music.
The November 15 benefit will feature four live bands performing music that Drew loves, along with gift basket raffles and a 50/50 drawing. The event is intended to be both a celebration of Davis’s life and musical passion and a community effort to help provide the essential care he now requires.
The suggested donation is $20 at the door, with proceeds supporting Drew’s home health care needs.
For those who know Drew, the benefit represents something far more meaningful than an afternoon of live entertainment. It is an opportunity to stand beside a friend whose illness has taken away his ability to perform the music he loves, but not the friendships and bonds that music helped create.
Organizers hope the event will bring together musicians, music lovers, friends, neighbors, and members of the greater Long Island community to demonstrate the power of compassion and collective support.
Those unable to attend are also encouraged to consider making a contribution toward Davis’s ongoing care.
