According to a recall notice by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, “the adjustable handlebar stem on the bicycles can become loose, posing fall and injury hazards.”

The recall involves four models, according to the CPSC: Liv Flourish FS 1, Giant Escape 3 Comfort, Liv Alight 3 Comfort and Giant Cypress DX.

Giant Bicycle Inc., of Newbury Park, California, stated in a news release that it has received 86 reports of the bicycle’s handlebar becoming loose, including three reports of riders falling off their bicycles.

According to the CPSC, consumers with any of these models should schedule an inspection and free repair with an authorized Giant Bicycle dealer.
